About Joelle
Joelle Azzam, MSc, Sports Nutritionist & Dietitian
I realized early on that my dream career was to become a sports dietitian. Growing up a competitive dancer, I was always intrigued by the impact eating certain foods before a competition or meet had on my performance. I had a love for science and how nutrition could have either the most beneficial or detrimental impact on both athletic performance and overall health.
I have worked closely with athletes at the pinnacle of demanding sports, including a high-altitude mountaineer, a Jiu-Jitsu competitor, and soccer players. My approach emphasizes personalized nutrition plans that are critical to optimizing performance, enhancing recovery, and reducing injury risks in competitive sports settings.
Professionally, my career is marked by my innovative nutrition solutions that cater to the unique demands of professional athletes. I combine the latest research with practical dietary strategies to ensure athletes not only perform at their best but also maintain peak health and well-being.
Outside of my professional endeavors, I am passionate about dance, having competed in Latin and ballroom dancing at national and international levels. I also enjoy cooking nutritious, inspired meals from Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisines with my family, reinforcing my belief in the power of good food to foster both community and personal health. Fluent in English, French, Lebanese, and Arabic, my diverse cultural insights also enrich my practice, allowing me to connect with and support a broad range of clients in achieving their dietary and athletic goals.
